Founded by Eric Eugene Williams — professional tattooer and machine builder — PYRATE exists to bring the work, the tools, and the knowledge back into the same hands. Tattooing isn’t separate from the machines or materials used to do it. Understanding those tools is part of the responsibility.
Everything here is shaped by real tattooing and real machine building. No trends. No disposable thinking. Just durable tools, intentional design, and work meant to last.

Eric Eugene is an award winning artist who has been tattooing for nearly 20 years. He and his wife, Krista, decided to open Cutlass RIP so they could offer a better tattoo experience to the community and visitors. Eric is not only passionate about designing and applying tattoos, but also the history of tattooing and the building of tattoo machines. He currently has a patent pending for a universal machine part and makes the best tattoo aftercare in house (Pyrate remedy)

I’m based in East Tennessee, but I regularly travel to tattoo at carefully selected, professional studios both within Tennessee and beyond. Traveling allows me to work in clean, well-run shops while making it easier for clients to get tattooed without needing to travel far themselves. Whether locally or on the road, I only work in professional environments that meet my standards, so clients can feel confident they’re receiving the same level of care, safety, and quality wherever the tattoo is done.
